One of the most frequently asked questions we have is do you have capacity today or tomorrow?
Whilst the answer is invariably yes, how do we achieve this without unlimited resources?
24/7 Shift Patterns
Most laser cutters work round the clock, the reason for this is twofold. Firstly as a response to customer demand to cope with emergency work in the event of a tool failure. Secondly, laser cutting machines represent a large capital outlay so laser cutting companies look to maximise their return on investment.
Flexible Workforce
Whilst we have dedicated shift patterns we also have a flexible workforce that are happy to change working patterns at short notice to cope with spikes in customer demands.
Planned Maintenance
The laser cutting machines at GF Laser are maintained by the original equipment manufacturers in order to maximise the uptime as well as prolonging the lifetime of the laser. That said GFL is also committed to continual investment with 80% of our capital equipment being less than 5 years old.
Stock Material
GF Laser carry a wide range of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. This means that the majority of laser cutting requirements can be catered for without waiting for steel deliveries. If the material is of an unusual specification then we have next day delivery available from all the major steel stockholders.
Scheduling Technology
GF Laser use the latest cloud based scheduling software to ensure effective scheduling and rescheduling matching every available slot to an appropriate laser cutting slot.
Collection and Delivery Service
As well as operating their own delivery vehicles GF Laser use a dedicated courier company that can provide next day palletised delivery anywhere in the United Kingdom. For many customers we also collect free issue parts whilst delivering cut parts.
